Core Performance - Book Review

August 10th, 2008 Posted by David Lemberg

Core Performance by Mark Verstegen is one of the best fitness books available. Verstegen has a long track record in the field of athletic performance and he brings years of experience to his many revolutionary training recommendations.

Core Performance is packed with exercises that not only strengthen your core musculature, but also build strength, flexibility, and elasticity. The programs take you through the prehabilitation phase all the way to complex intermediate and advanced core workouts.

Easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions for every exercise are accompanied by crystal-clear sequential photographs showing an athlete actually doing the exercise from start to finish.

If you belong to a gym, all the equipment you need is already there. If you’re working out at home, all you need is a physioball and a rope.

All the exercises are very fun to do. Progressions are included, so as you get fitter and stronger you can make the exercises more difficult.

A great group of exercises are designed to promote “elasticity” - increasing your ability to bound up off the floor - increasing your vertical leap, speed, and explosiveness. That’s a powerful combination for everyone at every age.

Core Performance includes numerous well-designed exercise programs, outlined in detail for people at all levels of fitness.

Core Performance is an instruction manual for achieving and maintaining peak physical performance. TOTAL LIFETIME FITNESS recommends it to everyone, at every level. You will be excited by the performance gains you achieve in a very short time.

  2. It’s always good to read about a product that offers strength exercises along with flexibility. Most products leave you to stretch on your own which may or may not get done in most cases.
